Promise-A-Day is a free SMS subscription service that delivers one daily Bible verse to subscribers who have opted in. The service is operated by Alan Buhler and is available at getapromise.com.
You must be at least 13 years old and a resident of the United States to subscribe. By subscribing, you confirm that the phone number you provide belongs to you and that you are authorized to receive SMS messages on it.
Enter your phone number at getapromise.com and click "Get a daily promise." You will receive a confirmation SMS and must reply Y to complete your subscription. No messages are sent until you confirm.
Subscribers receive approximately 1 message per day. Msg & data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.
Text STOP to our number at any time to cancel immediately. Text HELP for help. You can also email us to request removal.
This service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may not use it to harass others or attempt to circumvent rate limits or security controls.
Promise-A-Day is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Bible content is sourced from publicly available translations and is provided for inspirational purposes only. We do not guarantee uninterrupted delivery — SMS delivery depends on Twilio and your carrier.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Promise-A-Day and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

We collect your phone number when you sign up to receive Bible promises via SMS. We also collect optional feedback messages you submit through the website, and optional donor names provided at checkout.
Your phone number is used solely to send you daily Bible promises and occasional service messages (such as a one-time survey about your experience). We do not use it for any other purpose.
Text STOP to our number at any time to unsubscribe immediately. You will receive no further messages. To request deletion of your data, text STOP and then email us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your phone number is shared with Twilio (our SMS provider) solely to deliver messages. Donations are processed by Stripe; we do not store payment card information.
Unsubscribed phone numbers are retained for up to 12 months for compliance purposes, then deleted. Donor records are retained for 7 years for accounting purposes.
